CEJA aims to make Illinois 100% reliant on clean energy by 2050 and provides programs to help you with the skills needed for a successful career in the rapidly growing clean energy industry. Whether you’re interested in solar and wind power, electric vehicles, or green building, these programs are designed to prepare you for entry-level clean energy jobs.
CEJA programs offer training in a variety of clean energy fields:
- Solar and Wind: Solar panel installation, wind turbine maintenance, sales, and more.
- Automotive: Electric vehicle (EV) service and maintenance.
- Electrical: EV charging station installation, energy-efficient building wiring, and grid modernization.
- Green Building Construction: Energy- efficient construction and weatherization techniques.
- Building Maintenance: High-efficiency HVAC installation and maintenance, plumbing, and general building maintenance.
- Manufacturing: Production of clean energy technologies.

Climate Works Pre-apprenticeship Program
A FREE training initiative that prepares you for apprenticeships in clean energy, construction, and building trades.
ELIGIBILITY
- Be 18 years of age or older
- Reside in an equity investment-eligible community OR be formerly incarcerated OR be a current or former graduate of the foster care system.
- Have a high school diploma or GED/HiSET or be in a program to get one.
- Have an interest in a career in clean energy, construction, or building trades.
